Bok short lineout, Matfield takes and the Boks drive, picks and go, CJ loses the ball in the tackle, Jaque Fourie cleans up and is crunched in the tackle by Namibian number 8. Bok scrum, Lensing penalised and Monty kicks out 8m from the Nam line. Bok lineout.

02 – Matfield takes, Boks drive, Du Preez to Bakkies who is tackled, Nam get the turnover and the defensive scrum 5m from their line.

03 – Nam knockon from the base of the scrum. Bok scrum 5m out. Du Preez to Monty who passes behind Willemse into touch. But back for the penalty from the scrum and Montgomery kicks it over.

24 – Two consecutive big hits from the Boks – CJ on Africa then a combined Os & Bakkies hit on Kees Lensing – leaving the Namibian needing some ice to the chest. John Smit tweaked a hamstring in training – hence his replacement by Gary Botha.

27 – Namibia penalised for slowing the ball down 5m from their own line. Monty sets up the 5m lineout. Botha throws, Cronje takes at the front and the Boks drive, Schalk controlling the ball at the back, driving over the line and down! Schalk scores, Monty misses the conversion.

40 – Half Time: Boks 44 – 07 Namibia. 6 Tries to 1. Boks are sticking to their structures and also showing some flair in the backline with some nice passing. Matfield controlling the lineouts. Juan Smith playing a blinder making 10m every time he runs with the ball and scoring 2 tries. Jean De Villiers is also showing good vision in midfield, and Monty is having a solid game at the back while also joining the line at pace. Worryingly, Os looks like a spent force and has been anonymous so far. All in all a solid first half from the home side.

41 – Boks take the kickoff and set it up. Ball swung to Montgomery who runs from deep, to De Villiers, Pietersen makes good metres, to Gary Botha – ruck and Gary Botha penalised for playing the ball on the ground.

Going for the pushover scrum, Cronje picks and goes, penalty against Wessels for dropping the scrum. Matfield opts for the scrum 5m out, Du Preez pops to James who sets it up, ball shovelled out via De Villiers and Gary Botha to Monty joining the line. He crashes over in the corner then converts his own try.

52 – Penalty Namibia on the Bok 22m and they strangely opt to kick for posts. Wessels slots it.

53 – Boks swing it down the line on the halfway, slick hands by James to Fourie who passes into touch after some miscommunication. Matfield steals the lineout and the Boks swing it crossfield. A Namibian takes it into touch after a grubber and it’s a Bok lineout 5m out. Boks drive strongly from the lineout and Schalk crashes over for the try. Monty converts.

58 – Bok scrum on Nam 10m – Fourie loses it forward in the tackle and the Namibians claim the possession. Boks turn it over at the next ruck and swing it wide again. Pietersen surges up the left and pops inside to Jaque Fourie who loses the ball in the tackle 1m out. Fourie is having a shocker in terms of handling. Namibian defensive scrum. Accidental offside by the visitors. Bok scrum 5m out. James to Burger, Du Preez to Mafield who stretches for the line and appears to knock-on on as he goes to ground the ball at the base of the pole padding. TMO inconclusive. Bok 5m scrum. Ball goes wide to Montgomery who displays good hands to pop it up to Willemse. Willemse runs over for the try in the corner. Monty misses the conversion.

Jacques Burger knocks on and it is a Bok scrum on the Nam 22m. Januarie to Monty up the blind side, pop to Os who charges up, Pienaar drives around the blind side of a ruck but is bundled into touch 1m out from the Nam line. Nam lineout, poor throw, Juan Smith gathers and  crashes over the line for his third try tonight. Monty converts.

71 – Matfield takes the kick-off, Boks drive it up with Schalk controlling at the back again, breaks round the side to Jaque Fourie who is tackled. Ball recycled and the ball is flung down the line to the left. Ten phase attack by the Boks, Montgomery to Bismarck who drives through to 5m out. Boks penalised. Os off to the bloodbin.

73 – Ndungane runs strongly up the right wing and is tackled, Schalk gets the ball away to Muller who pops to Bismarck. Bismarck bulldozes 10m through 5 Namibians and crashes over for his first Bok try. Monty converts. Jean De Villiers is down injured and it looks serious. He leaves the field.

76 – Bok penalty leads to a lineout 5m out – Muller takes, popped to Schalk who drives over for his third try with help from Juan Smith. Monty adds the two-pointer.

  1. and Italy it is not the same as you knew before…..remember it
First of all we are hopefully going to quarter of final if we play like last 6 nation match when we won in Murrafield stadin in Edinburg 37-17 face to Scotland……
then we have nothing to ask more to RWC, by the way appetit come heating….then France will suffer…….

  2. Giocosta it was a great match. Italy showed heart and deserve that win, even with the ref giving the wrong time

  3. Boks win by 92 – only concern is an injury to Jean Div – he didn’t look happy as he left the field shaking his head. Great first half by Juan Smith, great second half by Schalk Burger. Boks looked slick – Jaque Fourie the only fairly rusty looking player.

  4. I said 100 points for the Boks and I feel they should have scored more in the first half

  5. Post match presentation – Jake presents a trophy to Os – “Baie dankie vir die geleentheid. Baie dankie vir almal wat by my gestaan het deur die tough tye.” Then Monty gets a trophy and gives thanks.
